Finals came and left. This was the first semester in quite some time I had to give more D's and F's which was quite depressing to input. Overall, they did enough. As the end of the school year for 2017 came, I was able to chaperone the field trip for Calculus to the Tech Museum and Christmas in the Park. The Tech Museum was fun. I have never been there and it is so close to home! My co-worker and I went through all the exhibits. We played with the blocks to build and give directions. We saw the demo on the life-water straw which was very cool. Enough to buy it and support their cause in Africa. (Although it was overpriced at the Tech Museum.) We saw their human bodies exhibit, made from bodies donated to Science. It was eerily creepy but interesting. Lastly, we did a Chemistry Lab which brought me back to my Chem class in 2003. Balancing equations was a stretch to recall, but it came back to me! Downstairs we walked around their interactive hands-on labs and tested our passwords to know their strengths.
Christmas in the Park was OKAY. I guess if you are a younger child or with your significant other it is worth the photo-ops but otherwise, it was nice to see all the decorative trees, but I wasn't wowed by it. The next day my sister came home for her winter break. We had high tea in Saratoga and it just nice to spend time with her with delicious tea sandwiches, best heart shaped scones, and hot tea. I love spending time with my sister, and I am very fortunate to have a strong relationship with her. We were always silly when we were younger, and granted I tortured her with a spider or the hallway light, but no matter how hard life is/was on us, we always pulled through.
This week was also the one year of my grandpa's passing and as much as life is back to normalcy, dealing with that part in my life was devastating and seeing how people treat each other, is just sad. But ever since, I always ask for blessings and guidance from both of my grandparents. As 2017 comes to its end and Christmas is upon us, I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season filled with joy, family & friends, and love. The greatest feeling is knowing love and being able to accept it all.
