As for my CPACE score, I sadly did not pass! But I was SO CLOSE! I suddenly knew how some of my students feel when they receive a B+ instead of an A-. I am going to try again because I would like to continue to build my career, but if it doesn't happen, it won't be the end of the world for me. (I already know how that feels like.) As for my AVID class, one of my students received their acceptance to Arizona-which is awesome! Even though they are times they are stubborn and lazy they still have great insight and they have powerful ideas that I always appreciate!
Along with teaching, this past month I have learned a lot about my coworkers and their passions. Sometimes in this job, we are constantly spread too thin and asked more than what we can handle. And for myself, I can't say no. I really like the stamina of my coworkers and even when we have bad days, it is nice to have someone just listen to you. The month of November is disillusionment and as teachers- we are also human too! Always take care of yourself first, take mental health days to not burn yourself out, and sometimes it is OK to say no.
This past weekend I was able to do a 5K run with my coworkers and the Japanese Honor Society Club! It was an amazing run (mostly walked) and I had a great time with all of them and the luncheon together. I must say I work with and teach some great people!
Lastly, I have been reading lots of poetry that seems way too relevant in my world. Sometimes being in a public role, we tend to suppress what we are going through. We sometimes forget that we are people too and that we need time for ourselves to heal.
