First of all, I resigned from my position at Sylvan Learning Center a month ago. It was a bittersweet goodbye, but I felt it was time for me to make that change. I really did love being there, and it gives me the opportunity to work with a diverse age group and beyond my mathematics subject. Work has been busy, with organizing professional development, newsletters, meeting with new teachers, observing teachers, going to PD. It has just been a lot! I honestly believe the workload piled on.
The highlights of this month, 6 of my AVID students were conditionally accepted to the UC Schools! It is an absolute proud moment to live in the days where their lives are changing. It is a wonderful experience, and I am looking forward to the day when all of my students have that moment of life-changing school experience.
For myself, I am hanging in there. A year ago I was in one place where I thought everything was planned and mapped out. Fast-forward to now, and I am lost as ever-but I am enjoying my time and focusing on me. Today marks a new change in my path. What I had thought would not happen, is going to happen. When it is time, then it will be a great change. For the now, I am happy where I am, the people I am surrounded by, and the possibilities that can exist within those parameters. Cheers, to these next steps!
