Overall, I am working on making videos of math examples for my students. I don't plan on doing large projects as this is an adjustment period, and also highlighting the issues of our educational system. As I once voiced before, education is tri-fold, maybe even a quad. But it takes a student, teacher, and parent to complete the full scope of a student. I have read many things online (yay internet, not) about parents complaining about their son/daughter defiance. I wonder to myself, what do you think happened in the classroom? There has been a deep separation from school to home in terms of education. Teachers are still teaching and providing work in new platforms, "classrooms" but now parents and guardians are responsible for the monitoring of the work. Which what I have read online is "challenging." The last part of the education system is the community, or what has been the new debate equity over equality. I read that schools are providing internet access to all students, and they called it equity-but it is not. It is just equality. There is a huge disparity of how students are learning at home-hence EDUCATION IS NOT A ONE SIZE FITS ALL.
Anyway. Today I went to the bank. It was horrible. I went there when it opened, and they were following the social distance rules. But they only had one teller and it is the end of the month. I waited 1 hour and 38 minutes. Because I know the teller was on her lunch. It was ridiculous. And banks should know when they have a high influx of customers and should have prepared for that and not have those in the "office" working-if they didn't want a lot of people in the bank to begin with. Again, this is the world we live in. Even one of the door keepers said to me, we are suppose to be home too. In my head I said, you are essential for keeping the economy flowing. I am also a bit bitter because my mom is a nurse, and she never once said that to me.
Overall, it has been a trying time. My workout also killed me today. I will need to be taking it easy for a bit. Goodnight world. I hope we can defeat this thing, even though it seems like the most random of people are "getting it."
